Introducing the EFX from AVANT.
The people that created the next generation of 3D
Helicopters |
|

Since
its introduction the Avant line broke the mold with
advances in design that are now slowly being imitated
by other helicopter manufacturers. We now introduce
the Avant EFX. The most advanced 3D RC-Helicopter
to date. Its next generation design allows it to
perform far better than any other heli currently
available in the market. |

A helicopter designed by engineers using the latest engineering
tools |
Design is done using engineering principles and calculations.
Kinetic simulations help predict flight capabilities and
mechanical calculations predict durability and parts resistance
to stress, forces and metal fatigue.

the engine is under power.

| CCPM
system with common arm rotation axis eliminates interaction |
The
Avant EFX and FX feature a CCPM system that uses
a common center of rotation that virtually eliminates
the interaction commonly found on other systems.
In the
Avant CCPM system when the front lever raises or
lowers it comes closer to the mainshaft. At the
same time when the two back levers raise or lower
they also come closer to the mainshaft thereby canceling
the non-linearity of the front one and vice-versa.
Notice that this error cancellation effect is true
both for when both the front and back are raised
as well as when one of them is raised and the other
lowered. |

|
| High
engine location for low mass moment of inertia that increases
response for rotations around the CG |
The
heaviest piece in any helicopter is the engine and
its distance away from the center of gravity heavily
affects how easy a helicopter can rotate around
its CG. A larger distance will force the blades
work harder to move the engine around the CG when
doing flips or rolls.
This
effect is achieved in the Avant EFX and FX by having
the main gear above the tailboom instead of below
as most helicopters. The main gear determines where
the pinion is located and consequently where the
engine is located. |

| Tank
location close to the main shaft |
| The
Avant EFX and FX feature a tank location closer to
the mainshaft which minimizes the changes in trimming
as the fuel is used up. |

| Head
modifications change flybar ratios, delta ratios and swashplate
to blades ratios for an optimized response for hard-core
3D flying. |
The
Avant EFX features head modifications that allow
the head to be adjusted in a wider range of ratios.
From ratios optimized for hard-core 3D flying to
all around mild response they are all easily adjusted
by simply selecting the right ball locations or
delta spacers. Simple instructions guide you for
the right selection of settings.
Delta
spacers allow for adjustment of the blade's delta
response by simply selecting one of the three different
thickness provided with the kit. |

Push-Pull control system with thicker rods eliminates play.
|
Full
Push-Pull control system with thicker rods eliminates
play as well as shear forces to the servo.
The Push-Pull
system transfers the torque of the servo directly
to the levers. This eliminates the shearing force
that wears out the servo bearings when they take
lateral forces. Thicker rods prevent the rods from
bending under compression. |

| Easy
access to engine and radio |
Serviceability
and easy access is a major driving force in the
design of the Avant EFX and FX. Easy engine access
as well as radio and fuel tank access allow for
easy servicing of those parts at the field. |

| Lightweight
small cross section canopy |
The Avant EFX and FX feature a lightweight fiberglass
canopy with a very small cross-section that lowers
the drag coefficient helping keep the momentum on
large maneuvers or fast passes.
